Day 1 - Kalahari Desert
Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge
Meals- Dinner

Upon arrival, you will be met by your driver and transferred to the car hire office to pick up your hire car.

Your vehicle is ready for the Namibian road and complete with a cool box and an emergency mobile phone, plus you will also be provided with an information pack which will include driving directions, accommodation details, and contact phone numbers.

Once familiar with your vehicle head south to the edge of the Kalahari Desert, which is a drive of around 2- 2.5 hours. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure in the peaceful surroundings of Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge or head out on an activity with the lodge which is an option for an extra cost.

Day 2 -Drive to Sossusvlei

Dead Valley Lodge
Meals- Breakfast & dinner

After breakfast, you’ll leave the Kalahari and drive to Sossusvlei in the Namib Desert in the southwest of the country. You’ll stay in Sossusvlei for the next two nights and you’ll have time to explore the iconic towering sand dunes, as well as other incredible geographical formations of the region, such as Sesriem Canyon.

Day 3 - Explore the Dunes

Dead Valley Lodge
Meals- Breakfast & dinner

We recommend that you wake up early to climb the iconic sand dunes at sunrise. Dead Valley Lodge is one of the few lodges inside the Namib-Naukluft National Part, so you can access the dunes before and after most other guests staying outside the park are allowed. It is possible to do this self-guided or to book onto a guided trip directly with the lodge

Other extra activities you can enjoy today include a nature drive to search for desert-adapted wildlife, a dune walk, or even soaring above this breathtaking landscape in a hot air balloon, which is all optional for an extra cost.

In the evening you can enjoy a gin and tonic on a sundowner tour and after dark enjoy the spectacular night sky in a region with very little light pollution.

Day 4 - Sossusvlei to Swakopmund

Villa Margherita
Meals- Breakfast

This morning you’ll leave the Namib Desert and you’ll drive north through beautiful canyons and striking scenery as you head towards the lovely town of Swakopmund on the Skeleton Coast.

Walvis Bay is a stunning spot just outside Swakopmund and we highly recommend stopping off on your way into town. Sheltered by the Pelican Point sand spit, Walvis Bay’s tidal lagoon is home to abundant birdlife, including flamingos and pelicans.

Swakopmund itself is a former colonial town famous for its German architecture and culture - many residents speak German and there's even an Oktoberfest beer festival. It is an ideal place to spend a couple of days between visiting the dunes of Sossusvlei and exploring the attractions of northern Namibia.

Day 5 & 6 - Swakopmund to Damaraland

Camp Kipwe
Meals- Breakfast & dinner

This morning you will resume your Namibian road trip and head further north up the Skeleton Coast to Damaraland. If you choose to drive along the coastal route we recommend that you stop at Henties Bay to see the Cape Cross seal colony and you may wish to visit the shipwreck of MS Winston at Durissa Bay, during heading back inland.

On arrival, you’ll settle into your accommodation and you can spend the afternoon relaxing at your lodge, or if you wish you can take a walk in the surrounding area, stopping at viewpoints to marvel at the beautiful Damaraland landscape.

On Day 6, Today included in your trip are two activities with Camp Kipwe Lodge. There are options for you to head out on a nature drive with an experienced guide in search of Namibia's famous desert-dwelling elephants, and you may wish to also join the Twyfelfontein, Burnt Mountain, and Organ Pipes excursion to see the rock engravings at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Twyfelfontein.

Day 7 & 8 - Damaraland to Etosha
Andersson's Camp
Meals- Breakfast & dinner

After breakfast, you’ll get back in your vehicle and drive east towards Etosha National Park.
Etosha offers fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities, particularly around the waterholes. You can expect to see elephant, giraffe, lion, leopard, zebra, springbok, and gemsbok and it’s also one of the best places in Southern Africa to see the endangered cheetah, black rhino, and rare antelope species such as black-faced impala, Damara dik-dik, and the roan antelope.

We offer a choice of superb lodges, both in the park and on its borders. Included in this trip is Anderssons at Ongava which is one of the newest lodges in the area, on the private Ongava Game Reserve, adjacent to the national park itself.

On day 8, Today you’ll have a full day to explore Etosha National Park.

Despite being one of Africa's largest national parks, Etosha is easy to drive around yourself as all roads lead back to the main road. This means you can take your time visiting the many different waterholes where large concentrations of wildlife tend to congregate.

You can also choose to embark on a guided safari with the lodge, either on the private Ongava reserve or in Etosha National Park available at an extra cost. In Ongava it is also possible to head out on a nature walk, which is a wonderful break from vehicle safaris and allows you to appreciate the smaller details.

Almost a quarter of Etosha consists of salt pans, including the Etosha Pan which is undoubtedly the park’s most distinctive and dramatic feature. The Etosha Pan is the only known mass breeding ground for flamingos in Namibia and at times there can be up to a million flamingos here.

Day 9 - Etosha National Park to the Central Highlands
Ai Aiba Lodge
Meals- Breakfast & dinner

After breakfast, you’ll have time to enjoy a final activity into Etosha, before heading south again to your next destination – Ai Aiba Lodge, in the central highlands of Namibia.

The lodge offers fantastic guided walks during which you’ll explore the rugged landscape with the expert local guides who are exceptionally knowledgeable about the geology and history of the area, as well as the fauna and flora. It is not an area for big game so treat any distant sightings of kudu among the brush or the flash of a Hartmann’s mountain zebra as it disappears over the hillside as a bonus.

This is the perfect base for your final night, with the chance to enjoy self-guided or guided walking trails or just relax and salute the sunset a final time and appreciate the exquisite birdsong before heading home tomorrow.

End of Safari:
Windhoek (City) (Day 10)
Meals - Breakfast

Today is your last morning on your 10-day Classic Nambia trip. Following your breakfast at Ai Aiba, the drive back to Windhoek Airport should take approximately 3.5 hours.

On arrival, you’ll have time to get some lunch and drop off your hire car, before heading to the airport to catch your international flight home.

- Additional accommodation can be arranged at an extra cost.
