DAY 1

Windhoek

Accommodation: Hilton Hotel Windhoek (Luxury hotel located in or near Windhoek)

Meals & Drinks: Dinner only. Drinking water included (Other drinks not included) 

The driver will meet you at the airport at arrivals. The drive into Windhoek takes around 40 minutes, so you can relax and enjoy the scenery on the way to your first destination.

Your stay is at the Hilton Hotel Windhoek. A convenient base for exploring the capital of Namibia, the Hilton hotel puts the area's most exciting cultural and historical attractions at your doorstep. Our local representative will meet you at the hotel this afternoon to go through your itinerary with you, hand over your comprehensive tour file, and answer any questions you may have about the adventure ahead. 

DAY 2 

Okonjima Nature Reserve

Accommodation: Okonjima Lodge (Mid-range lodge located inside Okonjima Nature Reserve)

Meals & Drinks: All meals included. Drinking water included (Other drinks not included) 

After breakfast we will leave Windhoek and drive North to Okonjima, about 2½ hours. Okonjima Nature Reserve is equally famed for frequent cheetah and leopard sightings on its safaris, as well as The AfriCat Foundation. Activities on offer will delight and educate even the most experienced of travellers.

A highlight at Okonjima is learning about their big-cat passion. After an informative afternoon trail, you will end the day with a sundowner in an area of the Okonjima Nature Reserve, which has a high density of the secretly-social and rarely-seen brown hyena. Depending on your interests you can also go mountain biking, hike up the mountains to watch the sunrise, join a bird-watching excursion to spot some of the 250+ species of birdlife in the area, enjoy a nocturnal game drive, or you can experience a day in the life of a San Bushman on a bushman trail.

DAY 3 & 4

Etosha National Park from Onguma

Accommodation: Onguma The Fort (Luxury lodge located inside Onguma)

Your journey continues north to Etosha National Park. Onguma Private Game Reserve is situated on the eastern border of Etosha National Park, offering great game viewing, romance, tranquillity, adventure and more! Onguma The Fort is unlike any other, the only one of its kind in Namibia.
Experience the wildness of the bush in all its splendour; partake in the sights and sounds that will stay with you for a long time. Be constantly surrounded by raw beauty inside and out.You may partake in one of the following activities at Onguma Game Reserve.

DAY 5

Etosha National Park from Anderson Camp

Accommodation: Anderson's Camp (Mid-range tented camp bordering Etosha National Park without fences)

After breakfast, pack your belongings and explore Namibia’s animal kingdom with a full-day self-drive game drive. An impressive 5000-square-kilometre Etosha salt pan awaits you and can even be seen from space.
Ongava Game Reserve provides the ultimate accommodation, offering comfort, luxury and a connection to the earth.
Arrive in time for lunch and enjoy soft air, crackling with bird song and a chorus of lion roars, this is just a small, spectacular part of the Ongava experience. Tracking rhinos of foot, nights spent around the fire, watching as some of the world’s most illusive and endanged animals drink at subly lit waterholes.

DAY 6 & 7

Damaraland

Accommodation: Mowani Mountain Camp (Luxury lodge located inside Damaraland)

Today your journey will continue to the camera-friendly Damaraland region of Namibia with massive granite inselbergs and dolerite dykes carved into fantasy shapes by the wind. Approx. 5/6 hours driving.

The highlight of this region is Twyfelfontein – Namibia’s first and only World Heritage Site – with its wealth of rock engravings.
Other special attractions are the majestic Brandberg with its treasure trove of ancient Bushman rock art and daunting rock-climbing challenges, the Petrified Forest, Burnt Mountain, Organ Pipes.

On day 7, Early this morning you will go on a guided excursion in search of the desert elephants often found in the dry riverbeds of Damaraland. You will also visit The Living Museum of the Damara. The possibility to experience the traditional Damara culture in this form exists nowhere else in Namibia or in the world.

DAY 8 & 9

Swakopmund

Accommodation: Strand Hotel Swakopmund (Luxury hotel located in or near Swakopmund)

After breakfast you will drive towards the lovely town of Swakopmund, approx. 6 hours.
Uniquely located on the iconic and historic Swakopmund Mole and surrounded on three sides by the Southern Atlantic Ocean, Strand Hotel Swakopmund offers the finest uninterrupted sea views available anywhere in this quaint historic town. Swakopmund is the culinary capital of Namibia. This popular coastal town offers a large diversity in terms of gastronomic delights.

On day 9, Today you will experience the amazing riches of the Atlantic Ocean, and also enjoy the friendly and fun cruise.
Drive to Walvis Bay and depart at 08:45 from the Jetty at the Walvis Bay Waterfront for a marine educational sightseeing tour. You will sail to Pelican Point in search for dolphins, leatherback turtles, and whales in their scenic natural habitat. A gourmet snack of oysters, sparkling wine, hot drinks, cakes, and appetizers turns the morning sail into an extra special occasion. Afterwards you might like to admire flamingos and other avifauna at the Walvis Bay Lagoon or drive back and spend time relaxing in the town of Swakopmund or at many of its cafes or restaurants.

DAY 10 & 11

Namib Desert

Accommodation: Wolwedans Dunes Lodge (Luxury hotel located in or near Swakopmund)

Meals & Drinks: Breakfast & Lunch (Dinner not included). Drinking water included (Other drinks not included) 

Today you will say goodbye to the coast. Depart for a 6-hour drive to Sossusvlei. You can admire the Kuiseb and Guab passes amazing landscape and breath-taking views as if brought directly from some fiction movie.

Namib-Naukluft Park is the largest conservation area in the country and home to one of Namibia’s top tourist attractions, the legendary Sossusvlei, a spectacular white pan surrounded by some of the highest sand dunes in the world. Wolwedans Lodge is located in the heart of the NamibRand Nature Reserve and on the doorstep of Sossusvlei. The Dunes Lodge is perched on top of a dune plateau, overlooking panoramic vistas in all directions and capturing the beauty of the desert in a most memorable way.

On day 11, After a good night’s rest rise early and soak in the contrasting, never-ending landscape, with rippled sand dunes glowing in the magical light of sunrise whilst having breakfast. Accompanied by experienced guides, you will be introduced to the many facets of the desert habitat with its diverse fauna and flora – on foot, horse or by car. The interpretive scenic drives in open Land Rovers with resident field guides reveal the fascinating wonders of the desert – as do horse riding through the dunes, picnics in the wild, sun downers on the dunes and dinners by candlelight or horseback safaris and leisure rides.

 

You might also want the unique possibility to fly over the oldest desert in the world during the cool hours of the early morning. In the most romantic way you will soar with the winds, over the oceans of sand and mountains, endless vistas of shadows and lights. At landing, you come back to earth with an “Out Of Africa” style Champagne breakfast set up in the middle of nowhere.

DAY 14

Return to Windhoek

Accommodation: No Accommodation (End of tour)

After breakfast you will embark on your journey back to Windhoek. We are due in Windhoek in the early afternoon.
