Arrival

DAY 1 & 2

Windhoek to Etosha National Park

Accommodation: Okonjima Nature Reserve (Mid-rage camping inside Okonjima Nature Reserve)

Meals & Drinks: Breakfast only (Other meals at own expense)​. Drinks not included. 

Upon arrival in Windhoek Namibia, our friendly shuttle driver will transfer you to the vehicle depot for your rental vehicle collection. After you have filled in all the necessary paperwork and have gone through a thorough check of the vehicle and camping equipment you will head north. Stock up on fuel and supplies before you leave.

You will be spending the next two nights camping at the Okonjima Private Nature Reserve. While camping, guests will set up their own tents and prepare all meals on site. Make sure to bring along all food and drink supplies needed.  

On day 2, Okonjima Nature Reserve is home to the AfriCat Foundation, a non-profit organisation, committed to the long-term conservation of Namibia's large carnivores, notably Cheetahs and Leopards. The lodge offers a variety of excursions and activities such as AM & PM Guided Game Drives with Leopard or Cheetah tracking. Space is limited so these activities need to be pre-booked.

Join The AfriCat Foundation welfare project or head out on the The Bushman Trail. Hiking Trails up to 8 km are also available, made with varying degrees of difficulty for hiking enthusiasts. There is also plenty of bird-life in the area, with over 250 bird species which have been positively identified, the list includes most of Namibia's endemics.

DAY 3 & 4

Erindi Game Reserve

Accommodation: Erindi Private Game Reserve (Mid-rage camping inside Erindi Game Reserve)

Meals & Drinks: Breakfast only (Other meals at own expense)​. Drinks not included.

Leaving the Okonjima Nature Reserve you will make your way to another Namibian Wildlife jewel.

Erindi Private Game Reserve work tirelessly, conserving and rehabilitating rare and endangered species such as Leopards. Big cats such as Lion and Cheetah receive the same attention, as do Black Rhino, the rare African Wild Dog and Brown Hyena. Nearby viewpoints offer superb photographic opportunities and game viewing at the watering holes that will definitely enhance your experience. 

On day 4, Erindi offers the following excursions & activities which are optional but need to be pre-booked.

Morning and / or afternoon game drives are conducted in an open 4x4 safari vehicle (pax 10) led by a knowledgeable and qualified tour guide. A full day trip around Erindi Game Reserve can also be organised. For safety reasons only children over the age of 6 are allowed. A safari for the under 6's can be organised accompanied by 1 adult. This is ideal for parents travelling with younger children.

Night Drives, entail a 3 hour drive. Here you get to be on the lookout for elusive and shy creatures that only come out at night. Animals such as the Spotted and Brown Hyena, Aardvark, Pangolin, Cape Fox, Serval, Caracal and Small-spotted Genet all reside on this reserve. Want guaranteed wildlife viewing? Join telementary tracking with a guide. You can also visit some of the San Bushmen and their families who live solely off the land in Erindi Game Reserve.

DAY 4 & 5

Swakopmund

Accommodation: Desert Breeze (Mid-range lodge located in or near Swakopmund)

Meals & Drinks: Breakfast only (Other meals at own expense)​. Drinks not included. 

Pack up and head out of the park via the Andersson Gate, this drive offers you the opportunity to see more game, but don't stop and watch for too long as you have a long 560km drive ahead of you today. We suggest driving via Otjiwarongo to the town of Omaruru, which in recent years has become something of an artists retreat, there are several places here to stop and enjoy lunch before continuing via Karibib and Usakos and then across the Namib Desert to Swakopmund. On arrival in Swakopmund check into your accommodation before heading out for a drink, dinner and a night on the town.

DAY 6 & 7

Namib Desert

Accommodation: Desert Camp (Mid-range self catering accommodation located just outside Namib-Naukluft National Park)

Meals & Drinks: Breakfast only (Other meals at own expense)​. Drinks not included. 

Leave Swakopmund towards the harbour town of Walvis Bay, the lagoon here attracts a lot of marine & birdlife and is well worth a visit to view the pink flamingoes. You may decide to take a catamaran cruise on the lagoon (not included in package price). Today you have a drive of around 300km's which will take you around 4-5 hours. Your route will take you across the gravel plains of the Namib Desert and through the Kuiseb & Gaub passes. Aim to arrive at your accommodation in the late afternoon, Desert Camp is a self catering establishment and no meals are included in this package but if you do not want to have the hassle of carrying and preparing your own food meals can be enjoyed at the nearby Sossusvlei Lodge. (NB: Breakfast in included and will be served at Sossusvlei Lodge). 

DAY 5

Return to Windhoek

Accommodation: No Accommodation (End of tour)

Meals & Drinks: Breakfast only (Other meals at own expense)​. Drinks not included.

Today you will return to Windhoek, we suggest you leave early so you can explore the city a little before returning your vehicle, all vehicles need to be returned no later than 16:00. Our friendly shuttle driver will be waiting there to return you to the airport or accommodation and thus ending your tour. 

End of Tour

  • Additional accommodation & activities or tour extension can be arranged for an extra cost.

  • You will be dropped off at the airport/Hotel.
