Day 1 - Okonjima Nature Reserve
Okonjima Nature Reserve

We depart early morning and begin your first day with a trip to Okonjima. Upon arrival, you will visit the AfriCat Foundation, a conservation operation that focuses on the African big cats, particularly the cheetah. In the afternoon, you will embark on a tour that will provide you with more insights into this conservation program. The highlight will be the chance to see some of the animals. Later in the evening, you will drive to the Okonjima'sOmboroko Campsite where you will check-in, have dinner, and settle in for your overnight stay.

Day 2 -Etosha National Park - East

After an early breakfast, you will check-out and head to Etosha National Park with a stopover at Lake Otjikoto, Namibia’s largest permanent natural lake. Here you will learn about the history of this unusual landmark and then continue your drive to Etosha. You will arrive at Namutoni campsite where you will help set camp and familiarize yourself with the surroundings. After lunch, you will enjoy your first game drive during the cool of the afternoon. The game viewing here is usually excellent with close encounters with springbok, zebra, impala, giraffe, gemsbok, and a variety of birds. If you are lucky you may also have some close encounters with elephants and lions. Before sunset, you will travel back to camp. You will enjoy a glass of wine. You will experience a fabulous sunset from the tower of the old German fort before enjoying dinner around the campfire and settling in for your overnight stay.

Day 3 -Etosha National Park - South

After breakfast, you will check-out and spend the day on a game drive visiting a number of waterholes and making a stop at the Etosha Pan, the “place of dry water”. The Pan is an extensive flat depression; a place of shimmering mirages and large herds of plains game; a unique safari experience in Africa. You may stop at Halali Middle Camp to have lunch before continuing to the southern side of the park where you will check-in at Okaukuejo Camp. After dinner, a visit to the floodlit waterhole is strongly recommended with a good chance to see rhino and lion coming to the waterhole to drink. Later in the evening, you will settle in for your overnight stay.

Day 4 - Palmwag

Meals- Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After an early breakfast, you will check-out and begin your day with a game drive as you leave the park and drive into the Desert Mountains of the Kaokoveld. The region is one of the last true wildernesses of Southern Africa and home of the Himba people. During the afternoon you will be taken to the Otjikandero Himba village where you will meet with the locals. You will have a special guide for the time you are there who will translate for you and help you learn about the Himba’s culture, marriage customs, and traditional food. You will also visit the “holy fire”. In the evening, you will check-in at the Hoada Campsite for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 5 - Brandberg Mountain

After an early breakfast, you will check-out and head into one of the most beautiful desert regions in Namibia, Damaraland. You will pay a visit to the Organ pipes and rock engravings on the way to Brandberg. The Brandberg Mountain is an ancient Bushman spiritual site. You will check-in at the Brandberg White Lady Lodge, located in the shadow of this giant granite monolith. Here you will have dinner and settle in for your overnight stay.

Day 6 & 7 - Swakopmund

Meals- Breakfast & Lunch


After breakfast, you will check-out and head out for your first stop in the small town of Uis, an old mining town best known for semi-precious stones. Here rough amethyst, tourmaline, and other stones can be found at bargain prices. After this stop, you will drive to Cape Cross, famous for the close views of thousands of fur seals. Tonight you can sample one of the excellent restaurants in Swakopmund where the seafood is superb. Your guide may organize a group meal at a local restaurant for this evening. Dinner is not included in the price of the safari.

On day 7, After breakfast, you will drive to Walvis Bay for a stopover at the lagoon area to see flamingo and lots of other birds. You may even spot dolphins in the lagoon. You will pay a visit to the salt works before returning to Swakopmund. The remainder of the day is on you. You may explore Swakopmund, a very pleasant seaside town with lots of shops, a good stretch of beach and an open-air curio market. There is also a very good museum and the Namibian National Marine Aquarium located in Swakopmund. Alternatively, there are various other activities that can be arranged. Your guide will discuss all possible optional activities with you and offer to make pre-booking in advance.

Day 8 - Sossusvlei

Meals- Breakfast, Lunch  & Dinner


After breakfast, you will make a stop at Walvis Bay to say farewell to the flamings before traveling up the mountains across the Gaub and Kuiseb passes and a spectacular, almost moon-like landscape to arrive at the Sesriem Campsite in the late afternoon. After checking-in and having lunch, you will drive to the nearby sand dunes. Here you will have time to explore and later enjoy the sunset watching the colors glow and change on the mountains before going back for dinner around the campfire before settling in for the night.

Day 9 - Sossusvlei - Sesriem

Meals- Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner


You will rise very early to catch the soft light of the sunrise over the desert. You will pass through the gate into the Namib Naukluft Park and continue towards Sossusvlei along distant sand dunes on both sides of the road. If resting is not your thing, worry less as we stop at the famous Dune 45. Those who feel fit may climb the dune and get a breathtaking view of the surrounding desert and dunes as the sun rises. After a memorable morning drive, you will return to camp for breakfast and then take a desert walk in the cool of the morning, with a chance to see gemsbok, springbok, black-backed jackal and ostrich. After lunch, as the day cools off you will enjoy a short excursion to Sesriem Canyon before returning to camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

End of Safari:
Windhoek (City) (Day 10)
Meals - Breakfast

After breakfast, you will check-out and begin your journey back on scenic roads through the Khomas Hochland Mountain Range. We are likely to arrive back in the city in the early afternoon, you will be dropped off at your accommodation or airport.
